# Standards-Based Keyword Index This index is organized as a **SKOS-compatible polyhierarchical concept scheme**: every article may be assigned to multiple subject concepts, and each concept functions as a preferred indexing label rather than as an unrestricted social-media tag. The structural model follows the W3C [Simple Knowledge Organization System (SKOS)](https://www.w3.org/TR/skos-reference/). Broad disciplinary placement is normalized against the OECD [Fields of Research and Development (FORD)](https://www.oecd.org/content/dam/oecd/en/publications/reports/2015/10/frascati-manual-2015_g1g57dcb/9789264239012-en.pdf); computing and information-science concepts are cross-walked to the [ACM Computing Classification System](https://dl.acm.org/ccs); biomedical, neurological, and public-health concepts are normalized against the 2026 [Medical Subject Headings (MeSH)](https://meshb.nlm.nih.gov/); and social, cultural, legal, historical, and geopolitical concepts follow controlled-subject-heading practice represented by the [UNESCO Thesaurus](https://vocabularies.unesco.org/) and [Library of Congress Authorities](https://authorities.loc.gov/). The result is an **applied subject index**, not an official classification issued by any of those organizations. Established preferred terms are used wherever they adequately describe the work. Distinctive corpus concepts—such as *affirmative biopolitics*, *cognitive warfare*, *perceptual sovereignty*, and *Pax Silica*—are retained as local SKOS concepts because replacing them with broader vocabulary would erase their analytical specificity. Article labels are deliberately reduced to **one to four words**.
